Terms of use for experts (January 2015)

This agreement is entered into by and between you (hereinafter referred to as “Expert”) and Association of International Consultant, a Professional Association (hereinafter referred to as “ AIC ”);

WHEREAS, AIC is a not-for-profit and a totally independent Association with no other organization or company of any kind involved in any way (neither directly nor indirectly) in AIC strategy or management;

WHEREAS, AIC has developed a user-friendly Internet platform (website address: www.aic2000.org) publishing searches for experts advertised by Companies and International Organizations and other related information;

WHEREAS, AIC has designed this platform for the purpose of facilitating direct contacts by and between independent experts, and companies and/or International Organizations for projects funded by national, international and multinational donors;

WHEREAS, AIC members consist of qualified international and local experts wherever located, which are desirous of being informed of potential jobs with companies and/or International Organizations, in connection with projects and assignments financed by international donors and others, or of any other related information;

WHEREAS, AIC provides services to Consulting companies and International Organizations wherever located, which are desirous of identifying experts, in connection with projects and assignments financed by international donors and others, or of any other related information;

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants hereinafter contained and other good and valuable consideration, it is agreed as follows:


Article 1. Acceptance. These terms constitute a binding agreement between the Expert and AIC, and are deemed accepted by the Expert each time that the Expert uses or accesses the service. If the Expert does not accept the terms stated here, he should not use the service.

Access to the service

Article 2. Access to the service. Access to the list of job opportunities is free. Access to job description / requirement and requesting organization coordinates is only made available to AIC members.


Article 3. Membership. AIC being a not-for-profit organisation, to benefit from full AIC services, Experts must become AIC members.

Prices and payments

Article 4. There is NO Success Fee.

Article 5. Membership fee. They are subject to an adjustment every year.

Article 6. Membership fee modifications. Membership fee can be subject to change at any time with prior notification via email or via the website. New prices can only be applied to an existing Expert at the moment of re-subscription or prolongation.

Article 7. Payments. AIC bills at the beginning of every renewal period to the bank account or credit card indicated during the registration process (or changed after initial registration). Billing takes place unless cancellation occurs before the renewal period begins.

Article 8. Cancellation by experts. AIC Experts can cancel a membership at any time by sending an email to info(at)aic2000(dot)org . In case of cancellation by an Expert, no balance will be refunded to the Expert by AIC.

Article 9. Cancellation by AIC. If at any time AIC shall determine that any information provided it by the expert is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, AIC shall have the right to remove the Expert from its databases and may take whatever additional steps it deems necessary or appropriate to protect its own rights and responsibilities vis-à-vis other members (including consulting companies and International Institutions or other donors) and other third parties, including without limitation, the provision of notice to Members and third parties regarding such information. In any such case, AIC shall have no liability to the Expert for any such action it may take.

AIC Database of Experts

Article 10. Update of Experts’ data. The Expert undertakes the responsibility to regularly update the information on the service that directly concerns the Expert. The Expert is solely responsible for the accuracy of the information, including resumes sent to the service. Experts that fail to upload updated resumes will be deleted from the system without any warning.

Article 11. AIC to list Consultant’s data. Provided the Expert is in full compliance with the terms of this Agreement, AIC agrees to list the Expert’s data on its database(s) during the entire membership period, unless earlier terminated pursuant hereto.

Privacy Policy

Article 12. Access to and modification of the Expert’s personal information. The Expert is entitled to access and rectify any personal information that the Expert provides to AIC as a result of using the service.

Article 13. Personal Profiles. We provide you with the option of broadcasting your personal profile including your skills, experience, contact information, employment history, references, and CV. We use our best efforts to ensure that only employers, recruiters, hiring managers, head-hunters, and human resource professionals access those CVs.

Article 14. Expert Information. We maintain reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your information and while no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure, we have used and will continue to use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the protection of your personally identifiable information.

Other Items

Article 15. Limitation of Liability. AIC shall have no liability to the Expert hereunder relative to any acts or omissions of AIC pursuant to this Agreement. AIC makes no representations or warranties to the Expert. In the event that the Expert is in any way dissatisfied with AIC’s performance hereunder, it shall immediately inform AIC of the reason for its dissatisfaction, whereupon AIC shall determine, in its sole discretion, what relief, if any, shall be given to the Expert.

Article 16. Links to Third Party Sites. The external links are not under the control of AIC and AIC is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any link contained within a linked site. AIC is providing these links to the Expert only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by AIC of the site.

Article 17. Governing Law; Venue. This Agreement shall be interpreted, construed and governed according to the laws of France.

Article 18. Dispute Resolution. Should any dispute arise from this contractual relationship, their parties hereby undertake to seek a friendly settlement before going to court. Should the parties not reach a friendly settlement, they hereby agree to submit their actions to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.

Article 19. Severability. In the event that any of the provisions hereof shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions thereof shall nevertheless continue to be valid and enforceable as though the invalid or unenforceable parts had not been included therein.

Article 20. Paragraph Headings. The paragraph headings contained in this Agreement are for convenience only and shall in no manner be construed as a part of this Agreement.

Article 21. Change of Terms. AIC reserves the right to amend the terms at any point in time by posting an updated version to this web page. The Expert should visit this page periodically to review the most current terms because these are binding on the Expert.
